Resumen
This work has for objective to analyze the High School Textbooks of PNLD of 2015 with respect to the
presence of the history of mathematics as a pedagogical resourse for teaching mathematics. Initially
had made the lifting of the theoritical reference in search of potential of history of mathematics in
Mathematics teaching. Later, analyzed five colections of textbooks, extracting exercises, activities,
quotes, contextualizations, curiosities and didactic sequences in witch there was no presence of any
element on the history of mathematics. From the literature review was possible to define the categories
of analysis identifyinf the approaches of the history of mathematics as teaching strategy, information,
flash and activities. The results reval that the textbooks present historical material, although most have
informational character and considered that the approach of the history of mathematics as didatic
strategy has more potencial for the teaching of mathematics. The results also show the importance of
the role mathematics teacher in the teaching process of mathematics with use of the history of
mathematics.
