En abril del 2004 los wayuu habitantes de Bahía de Portete sufrieron una agresión en territorio colombiano de parte de grupos paramilitares conocida como “la masacre de Portete”. Como consecuencia de esta agresión, un aproximado de seiscientos wayuu vivió esta movilización forzosa a otras zonas de La Guajira colombiana y a territorio venezolano, habitando sobre todo, en los barrios de la ciudad de Maracaibo. A partir de este evento nos propusimos indagar en los tipos de conflictos y violencias que se despliegan en uno y otro lado de la frontera, cómo se encarnan en los sujetos sociales que allí habitan, y cómo, una vez enfrentadas y sufridas, intentan ser superadas desde los elementos que les otorgan sus culturas. Esta indagatoria se coloca en una propuesta de conciencia metódica donde, partiendo de un trabajo etnográfico, se hace énfasis en la experiencia cognitiva y emotiva de los actores sociales. Hemos abordado la manera en que ha sido vivido, percibido y representado el cuerpo-masacre-wayuu; también hemos indagado en los tipos de conflictos y violencias que se despliegan en esta frontera, la manera como se encarnan en los sujetos sociales que allí habitan, las consecuencias políticas, culturales, afectivas del caso, la manera como han sido enfrentadas y sufridas, a partir de los elementos que les otorgan sus culturas, sus luchas y movilizaciones sociales que protagonizan en sus respectivos territorios.In April 2004 the wayuu people of Bahia Portete suffered an aggression in Colombian territory from paramilitary groups known as “the slaughter of Portete”. As a result of this aggression, approximately six hundred Wayuu undertook requisitioning to other areas of the Colombian Guajira and Venezuela, dwelling especially in the slums of the city of Maracaibo. From this event we set out to investigate the types of conflicts and violence that spread on both sides of the border, how are they embodied in social subjects who live there, and how, once faced and suffered, they are trying to overcome these conflicts from the elements given to them by their cultures. This inquest is placed in a proposal of methodical consciousness where, based on an ethnographic work, we put emphasis on the cognitive and emotional experience of the social actors. We have addressed the way it has been lived, perceived and represented the Wayuu body-slaughter; We have also investigated the types of conflicts and violence that unfolded in this border, the way it was embodied in the social subjects who live there, the political, cultural and emotional consequences, the way how they have been faced and suffered from the elements that where given to them by their cultures, and the struggles and social movements who star in their respective territories.289-301janet.segovia@gmail.comAnual
