Resumen
The Federal Law 10.639/2003, which established the obligation to teach History and Culture AfroBrazilian and African in Basic Education, emerges in Public Policies as a milestone for the construction of ethnicracial education in Brazil. Their contributions are based on the objectives of strengthening the recognition and identification of blacks, forming a mechanism for restraining cultural, social, racial and religious prejudices. This study aims to analyze in general form the historical context of promulgation of Law 10.639/2003, the repercussions and challenges in the educational context, especially in the State School Jesus de Nazaré, in the Municipality of Macapá-AP. This qualitative and quantitative research was carried out through of interviews. The results point to the need to deepen the theme in initial and continuing teacher training courses in order to overcome the challenges faced in the educational context, for the propagation and consolidation of the principles emanated by the legislation in force
