Since then, the demand for development that prioritizes mitigation of impacts generated by economic activities is aimed societies worldwide. The bias sustainable, which is supported by the concept that natural resources must be used in order not to prejudice the present and future generations is an issue that encompasses not only the environment, but a number of factors such as economic, social, political, ideological, cultural, historical and other. Fishing is considered a resource easily exhaustible, while there are plenty of species, the individual needs to respect its life cycle. This economic activity is also extremely important to social development, since many people survive mainly on fishing, especially in the Amazon. These are the traditional populations, which include coastal communities, fisheries that take your livelihood and your income. In Macapá fishing is a product that is part of the diet of the population, has a considerable number of coastal fishermen in this municipality are registered third of the fishermen of Amapá, and mostly work in the activity for your livelihood with rudimentary practices. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the sustainability of the fishing activity of local population of the city of Macapá, research hypothesized that sustainability is not exercised by these fishermen. The methodology of the study was literature searches, secondary and primary schools to understand the results on the three axes of sustainability: social aspects, economic aspects and environmental aspects of coastal fishermen of Macapá.
