This paper presents a research about the effectiveness of educational software in the acquisition of the second language, in this case, the English language, and makes notes based on perceptions and tallynts of teachers from Elementary School to College, in schools of the network public and private in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. In view of the universe of learning tools that exist today, this research took as an example of educational software the Kahoot application, which can be used in various electronic devices, such as Smartphones, Tablets and Notebooks, which have great circulation among apprentices and various forms of interaction with the English language. The result was obtained through an existing bibliographic research on the subject and the application of a questionnaire to English teachers. This scientific research, as to its nature, is applied, of qualitative approach and of descriptive and exploratory character. As for the scientific method is the deductive. The results obtained showed that educational software is an important learning tool for those who seek the acquisition of the second language, and that apprentices who have undergone work with such software have indicated a good level of development in the process. Thus, it was concluded that the use of educational software should be increasingly extended to students of all school levels, once their effectiveness has been proven.
