The present study mainly sought to analyze and discuss the pedagogy of teaching and learning of the curricular component of Religious Studies in public institutions of the Elementary Education in the municipality of Santa Maria, as well as investigate what do students and educators of such school level understand about the awakening of spirituality and formation of a
human being. Thus, the objective is to contribute to the fight against violence, intolerance, bullying, and school dropout. Consequently, to collaborate in reducing cases of anxiety and depression developed in the school environment, which affect both students and teachers. Configuring itself like one of the great challenges of contemporary times as it reaches the youngest layer of society. The work was completed through a conversation circle in which each participant has presented their answers, and all of them have participated giving their opinions on the topic, under the teacher’s guidance. We perceive the awareness of the need for care, of
“science with awareness” because the parts are involved in the whole and vice versa. Religious Studies are a space of aesthetic humanization, interdisciplinarity of innovative knowledge, and actions involving ethics and solidarity, which enable the mobilization of skills beyond the consumer society or market needs.
