Controle social em saúde: percepções de estudantes inseridos em estratégias de saúde da família

Abstract

Objective: to verify the knowledge and participation of Students - Multiprofessional Residents and Graduates in the Health area - inserted in the practical field of Family Health Strategies in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, on Social Control in Health. Method: Qualitative descriptive study with the participation of twenty students. The sample was given for convenience and the saturation of the findings was limited. An online questionnaire was made available to research participants through the Google Forms® platform. Content analysis was used and the research was carried out from August to September 2020. Results: they were organized in two sections: 1) Characterization of students and 2) Analytical Categories, the first being - Impressions on Social Control in Health and about the Representation Instances and the second - Graduation and Social Control in Health. Conclusion: the study demonstrated weaknesses in the process of training students regarding the approach and experience in Social Control in Health. It was observed that students who, during the formative process, they had contact with the instances of the Student Movement, they had greater property in the speeches and in the questions about Social Control in Health. It was clear the importance of stimulating the participation of students (either in undergraduate or graduate courses) in instances of participation in Social Control in Health and how participation in these spaces has the potential to improve the training process of professionals health.
