El Salto de Honda (Tolima): reflexiones desde la historia ambiental

Abstract

La agencia, definida como la capacidad de producir un efecto histórico es el tema central de la presente tesis. El caso analizado es el del “Salto de Honda”, también conocido como raudales o rápidos de Honda, lugar crucial en la historia de Colombia a través del río Magdalena. El objetivo es demostrar la agencia de este lugar-actante, contribuyendo así a la construcción de la historia ambiental de este importante río. Para lograrlo, se analizaron las narrativas que han hablado o representado el Salto de Honda, a partir de fuentes primarias, historiográficas y del ámbito institucional, así como las que emergen de la memoria de historiadores, pescadores y habitantes del Salto. Con base en lo anterior, se presenta como propuesta metodológica una construcción narrativa de la agencia del Salto de Honda con el fin de representar la historia de las agencias no humanas y de repensar la historia de Colombia a través del río Magdalena. The agency, defined as the ability to produce a historical effect is the central theme of this thesis. The case analyzed is the "Salto de Honda", also known as Honda rapids, a crucial place in the history of Colombia through the Magdalena River. The objective is to demonstrate the agency of this actant-place, thus contributing to the construction of the environmental history of this important river. To achieve this, the narratives that have spoken or represented the “Salto de Honda” were analyzed, based on primary, historiographical and institutional sources, as well as those that emerge from the memory of historians, fishermen and inhabitants of the Salto. Based on the above, a narrative construction of the agency of the Salto de Honda is presented as a methodological proposal in order to represent the history of non-human agencies and to rethink the history of Colombia through the Magdalena River.
