Resumen
A power system uses control mechanisms to supply the continuous variations in demand, without difference between generation and demand and to deliver energy with minimum requirements of frequency, voltage and reliability. This control is organized in hierarchical levels, namely: (i) Primary Regulation, which operates in primary machines in order to adjust the generation to the load, stabilizing the frequency and (ii) Secondary Regulation, responsible for the restoration of frequency to its reference value and for the maintenance of hired interchange among control areas. The latter, also called Automatic Generation Control (AGC), has as its main parameter of analysis the Area Control Error (ACE), whose composition results from the sum between the product bias, frequency variation and the interchange variation. According to the acquired data, the AGC can operate in three different modalities: Tie-Line-Bias Control, Flat-Frequency Control and Flat-Tie-Line Control. The purpose of this work is to analyze the strategies of ACE, in order to use only one AGC modality or combining them, in relation to the behavior of frequency, interchange and correlated variables, such as power generation, besides showing the adoption benefits of Secondary Regulation and of Secondary Voltage Control (SVC). This evaluation is done through of event simulations using the ANATEM software. In conclusion, the aim was achieved, since it allowed the analysis of control modalities that, in the simulated case studies, operated according to their function
