This paper, product of the results of a qualitative design research on the teaching of the armed conflict in Colombia, describes and analyzes the production, transmission and appropriation of discourses and narratives about this phenomenon in a school context where its fieldwork is being developed The results of observations, in-depth interviews and document reviews, conducted in this school context, show that there are numerous discourses and narratives about the conflict that depend on who, when and where are stated, and that this narratives and discourses have mutated throughout history. The teachers and students appropriate, transmit and receive selectively these narratives, said selection is done depending on the person’s characteristics and their environment, in terms of their class, gender, generation, familiar trajectory and academic background, as well as their personal experiences regarding this phenomenon.
