Resumen
The safe use of medications, within the process of health care, has taken importance to national and international levels by demonstrating an increase in incidents and events related to the medications, which involve the processes of acquisition, passing by the prescription, dispensing, administration of medications, until you reach the use in patients and caregivers.
The proper use of medications is one of the goals of patient safety of the World Health Organization, in which the Instituto de Ortopedia Infantil Roosevelt works every day, and in the specific case of drugs makes it through its Pharmacovigilance Program doing monitoring and classification of the cases reported, where for the years 2012 to 2013 considerable progress is observed and the consolidation of strategies that enhance the use of the medication, which is given with a proper induction to each one of the personal involved in this process and to the continuing education of staff, patients and their caregivers.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the data found in the bases of the Pharmacovigilance Program at the Instituto de Ortopedia Infantil Roosevelt in the years 2012-2013, by setting variables by comparing the results by determining the current status; and if possible to establish guidelines for the improvement of the same.
