La semilla de la discordia: un estudio de la influencia del Régimen Alimentario Corporativo en la construcción de políticas públicas alimentarias en Colombia

Abstract

Nowadays hunger is a highlighted issue in the international agenda. Daily FAO reaffirms that 24,000 people die because of hunger. Strategies raised by the private sector and Governments are focused on increasing food production in order to reduce hunger and ensure food security. This article explains how food has transformed its meaning to be understood as a good, the beginning of the Corporate Food Regime and its relation with the construction of food policies. This case of study points up the relation between CFR and Colombian food policies since 2008. Moreover this study emphasizes on food dependency level and agricultural chemical inputs that come from international actors which will be analyzed by reviewing importation and food production statistics. Finally, this research will allow to determine the status of food sovereignty in Colombia.
