Resumen
The main objective of this research is to analyze how the concept of Ought and Exceptionality within the notion of the modern state are limited against the backdrop of narcotics in Afghanistan. Western states, especially the United States led by such conceptions, have made great efforts to put an end to the drug problem through promoting different strategies such as crop eradication, interdiction, and payment information. These solutions imposed inside Afghanistan have demonstrated negative effects, which promote the questioning of these practices and open the possibility of considering new approaches to this situation. Taking into account the need to address more comprehensive measures to understand and solve the context of narcotics in Afghanistan, an approach inspired by the Daoism is proposed.
