Posibilidad de exportación de frutas liofilizadas al mercado europeo

Abstract

In this paper a research is made about lyophilization technology, which comprises a quantitative and qualitative analysis. This in order to know the possibility of exporting lyophilized fruit to countries belonging to the European Union and EFTA.

The research begins with gathering information as the history of lyophilization technology process, advantages and disadvantages of application, equipment and functions necessary for its implementation and two Colombian companies that currently use this technology are exemplified. Additionally, the difference between this process and heat dehydration is explained

Subsequently, a countries selection matrix is created taking to account political, economic, cultural and legal variables of the 32 countries belonging to the European Union and EFTA. Based on this, the two countries whose result had higher favorability for the activity to be performed were chosen, these were Switzerland and Sweden, for which a market study was made, taking into account six stages: contacts, potential sales market, competitive analysis, conditions of entry, financial conditions and market entry and selection of the target country. Finally, conclusions and recommendations yielded information collected are presented.
