dc.descriptionThese reflexions concern the ontology of Apurinã shamanism and shamans and their diverse interpretations. One of these interpretations results from superficial academic analyses in anthropology while the other in the fruit of lived native experience enriched with anthropological training. A better understanding requires to guide the reader to travel into the world of shamans (kusanaty). We will describe the process by which they are initiated and acquire the power to cure disease or to cause it; the transformations they go through in order to live in different lands; conflicts and revenge; special diets as well as the objects which are used  during the healing processes aiming at the protection of their villages.en-US
dc.descriptionLas reflexiones aquí elaboradas proponen una discusión sobre la ontología del chamanismo y de los chamanes apurinã frente a sus diversas interpretaciones. Una de esas interpretaciones es el resultado de análisis académicos superficiales desde el campo de la antropología, mientras otra proviene de la vivencia nativa mediada por el entrenamiento antropológico. En ese sentido, y buscando una mejor comprensión, es necesario conducir al lector por un viaje al mundo de los chamanes (kusanaty) en el que serán descritos el proceso de iniciación y adquisición de poderes usados para curar y/o producir enfermedades, las transformaciones necesarias para habitar otras tierras, los conflictos y venganzas, las dietas, y los objetos usados durante los procesos de curación dirigidos a la protección de sus aldeas.es-ES
