2.9 MB : 184 páginas ; imagenes, graficosLa modernidad y sus ideas sobre modernización, han permeado con el tiempo el imaginario de los sincelejanos, haciendo que en ellos exista una necesidad de progresar y evolucionar continuamente, en el campo de la arquitectura, en el actual departamento de sucre, esta necesidad de progreso se ve evidenciada en sus edificaciones, puesto que estas mismas son el fiel reflejo de esta visión en el paso del tiempo y todo esto se ha dado gracias a la posibilidad de representar los componentes más característicos de la sociedad en las viviendas o edificaciones construidas en un tiempo determinado. Estas características en las edificaciones, acompañado de documentos históricos permite comprender la visión de modernidad y progreso en la sociedad del Sincelejo de finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, del mismo modo posibilita el entendimiento de cómo fue la introducción de diversos materiales a la arquitectura vernácula de Sincelejo y como esta adapta materiales del exterior sin perder ese carácter como representante socio-cultural de la comunidad, creando consigo una nueva arquitectura propia originada del sincretismo de lo vernáculo y lo moderno.
