Resumen
Objective: To determine the relationship between critical thinking and selfesteem in University students of Huancayo, 2021.
Material and method: The type of research is substantive descriptive and
the research design is descriptive correlational. The population consisted of
132 students and the sample of 98 students from V to X university cycle.
Critical thinking was assessed with the critical thinking test of the authors
Luis Alberto Yarlequé and Leda Javier Alva and the Rosenberg self-esteem
scale.
Results: Spearman's Rho coefficient of .055 was found between PC and
Self-esteem (P-value of .64); - .072 between PBPC and Self-esteem with
(P-value of .483); and .191 between CEPC and Self-esteem with a p value
of .060.
Conclusions: Critical Thinking and Self-esteem show independence
between them, in the same way, in the Basic Processes of Critical Thinking
and Specific Conditions of Critical Thinking they have no relationship with
Self-esteem.
