Impacto de la política monetaria en la rentabilidad de la bolsa de valores de lima 2006-2011

La presente investigación fue realizada con el propósito indagar sobre el impacto de la Política Monetaria del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) en la Rentabilidad de la Bolsa de Valores de Lima en el período 2006-2011. El estudio plantea que existe una relación negativa entre las tasas de interés y la rentabilidad del mercado accionario a corto plazo. Haciendo uso de la metodología de estudio de eventos se observó la respuesta del Índice General de la Bolsa de Valores de Lima (IGBVL) ante los anuncios del BCRP consistentes en cambiar o mantener la tasa de interés de referencia. Basándonos en la Hipótesis de los Mercados Eficientes (HME) procedimos a dividir la información en sus componentes esperado e inesperado y siguiendo los estudios de Kuttner (2001) construimos este último a partir de la tasa de interés interbancaria, habiendo encontrado que el mercado accionario reacciona al componente inesperado de la información más no al componente esperado. Se trabajó con dos poblaciones muestrales. La primera conformada por 58 decisiones adoptadas por el BCRP (cambiar o mantener la tasa de interés de referencia); la segunda estuvo constituida por los 58 datos sobre la rentabilidad del Índice General de la Bolsa de Valores de Lima (IGBVL). El método de estudio fue mixto y la investigación de tipo ex post facto. La investigación concluye que, en el corto plazo, existe una relación negativa significativa entre los retornos del mercado accionario y la decisión de Política Monetaria consistente en cambiar o mantener la tasa de interés de referencia. Asimismo, los resultados sugieren que la Bolsa de Valores de Lima es un mercado informativamente eficiente.
