Resumen
The diversity of national legal systems prompts the need for some common order to foster international commercial transactions. This subject is intended to offer a wide-range view on the main issues concerning the formation and performance of international commercial contracts in general and of contracts for the international sale of goods in particular. Two sets of legal rules are used for this purpose: the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (PICC) and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Notwithstanding their different origins and binding force they may complement each other in many aspects.
