Within the international legal order, The United Nations Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief is the only universal and specific international document about religious freedom or belief. The United Nations, through its principal and subsidiary organs, as we describe in this study, has carried forward the work of protecting and promoting this human right in particular as well as human rights in general. The genesis, content and juridical scopes added to this declaration are the subjects of this research, which also aims to assist in promoting respect for this human right.
