dc.description.abstractA search for symotoms of depression was done among male and female high school adolescents from two high schools at southern districts of metropolitan Santiago Chile. Subjects were asked to complete a set of self report questionnaires including a modified version of the Beck Depression Inventory. High scores of depressive symptoms (15.61 ± 9.79) in the whole sample as well as significant sex differences were observed, males being less affected than their female counter parts 113.96 ± 9.41 vs 16.89 ± 9.90; χ 2 = 8.67; p = 0.03).
