Stress has a negative effect on immune function and immune response in patients with autoimmune, infectious, and cancer diseases. Studies conducted by Latin American authors, published in the Scielo and Latindex databases, support this claim. It is important to continue researching the relationship between stress and the immune system in Latin America to develop effective strategies for preventing and treating stress-related diseases. However, there are important challenges and limitations in the study of stress and the immune system, such as measuring stress objectively and accurately and establishing a cause-and-effect relationship between stress and disease.El estrés tiene un efecto negativo en la función inmune y en la respuesta inmune en pacientes con enfermedad autoinmune, infecciosa y cáncer. Los estudios realizados por los autores latinoamericanos, publicados en las bases de datos Scielo y Latindex, respaldan está sustentada. Es importante seguir investigando la relación entre el estrés y el sistema inmunológico en Latinoamérica para desarrollar estrategias eficaces para prevenir y tratar enfermedades relacionadas con el estrés. Sin embargo, hay desafíos y limitaciones importantes en el estudio del estrés y el sistema inmunológico, como medir el estrés de manera objetiva y precisa y establecer una relación causa-efecto entre el estrés y la enfermedad.
