El artículo está dedicado al problema de mejorar la asimilación de material teórico por estudiantes universitarios en el marco del proceso educativo en una universidad ecuatoriana. A partir de la generalización de la experiencia del trabajo práctico, los autores examinan las dificultades que surgen en el estudio independiente de la información educativa. Con el fin de optimizar el proceso educativo, se determinan los principales aspectos de la estructura de la presentación del material teórico. Se han realizado investigaciones, durante las cuales se han mostrado las ventajas de utilizar pautas adaptativas con el uso de un lenguaje intermedio. Este trabajo muestra el impacto que tiene el uso de los materiales didácticos en la enseñanza del idioma inglés en los estudiantes de educación superior de la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. Para el aprendizaje significativo se han observado algunas debilidades como marco no sólo para los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje sino también para la selección de materiales y su diseño. Por último, se describen algunas características fundamentales que deben reunir los materiales para la enseñanza del inglés en el campo de las ciencias con una serie de ejemplos prácticos, los cuales hay que desarrollarlos para que el aprendizaje tenga un mayor éxito. El artículo revisa las funciones principales de los materiales didácticos para la enseñanza del inglés y su importancia en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje como mediadores entre los profesores y los alumnos es decir se crea un nexo entre ellos. El material didáctico sustituye a la realidad y trata de representarla de la mejor forma posible, facilitando su objetivación.The article is dedicated to the problem of improving the assimilation of theoretical material by university students in the framework of the educational process in an Ecuadorian university. Starting from the generalization of the experience of practical work, the authors examine the difficulties that arise in the independent study of educational information. To optimize the educational process, the main aspects of the structure of the presentation of theoretical material are determined. Research has been conducted, during which the advantages of using adaptive patterns with the use of an intermediate language have been shown. This work shows the impact of the use of didactic materials in the teaching of the English language in higher education students of the Escuela Superior Polytechnical de Chimborazo. For meaningful learning, some weaknesses have been observed as a framework not only for the teaching and learning processes but also for the selection of materials and their design. Finally, some fundamental characteristics that materials for teaching English in the field of science must have been described with a series of practical examples, which must be developed for learning to be more successful. The article reviews the main functions of the Didactic Materials for the Teaching of English and its importance in the teaching and learning processes as mediators between teachers and students, that is, a link is created between them. The teaching material replaces reality and tries to represent it in the best viable way, facilitating its objectification.
