RESUMEN: Este artículo analiza la condición de la mujer criminal en la ciudad de Medellín entre 1889 y 1908. A partir de la última década del siglo XIX se dio un cambio importante con la entrada de una nueva codificación penal, por ello se analiza la práctica judicial y con ello la condición del género en relación con el crimen. Esta tarea se elabora a través de los procesos judiciales que tratan delitos violentos como las riñas, el robo, el homicidio y las lesiones personales, los cuales reflejan las tensiones y la transgresión del ideal femenino del contexto moral y religioso en la primera etapa de la Regeneración. El juzgamiento penal en relación con la condición femenina criminal permite afirmar que la justicia se vio atravesada por la prueba moral, que, como construcción histórica es también un reflejo de la realidad y condición de la mujer criminal perteneciente a sectores populares.ABSTRACT: This article analyzes the condition of women criminals in the city of Medellín between 1889 and 1908. From the last decade of the nineteenth century, an important change occurred with the entry of a new penal codification, therefore, the judicial practice is analyzed and with it the condition of gender in relation to crime. This task is elaborated through the judicial processes that deal with violent crimes such as fights, robbery, homicide, and personal injuries, which reflect the tensions and the transgression of the feminine ideal of the moral and religious context of the first stage of the Regeneration. The criminal trial in relation to the female criminal condition allows us to affirm that justice was crossed by the moral fact, which, as a historical construction, is also a reflection of the reality and condition of the female criminal belonging to popular sectors.
