En San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras no existe una guía sobre la implementación de puentes peatonales, y existe una gran problemática a la seguridad de los ciudadanos, y múltiples accidentes por atropellamientos, por lo que se refleja de realizar este proyecto, para que de esta manera se reduzcan los riesgos por accidentes y de igual manera que funja como base para futuros proyectos a realizarse sobre puentes peatonales. Se aplicaron encuestas a la ciudadanía y se obtuvo información relevante sobre la problemática actual que representa la falta de puentes peatonales en la ciudad de San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras, donde se obtuvo que existen tres zonas altamente frecuentadas por vehículos y peatones, las cuales indican la necesidad de un puente peatonal. Por encima del 50% de los ciudadanos está de acuerdo que se implementen multas por no hacer uso de los puentes peatonales representándose con un 89%, también se obtuvo que un 97% de los encuestados solicita que se implementen basureros en los puentes peatonales de San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras. Así mismo, se realizaron entrevistas a profesionales civiles en el área de estructuras para obtener parámetros constructivos y recomendaciones geométricas. Con los resultados obtenidos se recomendó la implementación de puentes peatonales en áreas donde el tránsito de personas y vehículos es alto, ya que son las zonas propensas a accidentes.In San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras there’s not a guide regarding the implementation of pedestrian bridges, and there is a great problem to the security of the citizens and multiple accidents of run over so it is important to perform this project, that what the risks of accidents can be reduced and to provide a basis for future projects based on pedestrian bridges. Surveys were applied to the citizens and relevant information was obtained about the current problem represented by the lack of pedestrian bridges in the city of San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras, where it was obtained that there are three areas highly frequented by vehicles and pedestrians, which indicates the need for a pedestrian bridge. More than 50% of citizens agree with the implementation of fines for not using the pedestrian bridges, represented by an 89%, it was also found that 97% of those surveyed request that trashcans should be implemented on the pedestrian bridges in San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras. As well, interviews were conducted with civilian professionals in structures to obtain constructive parameters and geometric recommendations. With the results obtained, it was recommended the implementation of pedestrian bridges in areas where the traffic of people and vehicles is higher as there is a greater risk of accidents.
