La siguiente investigación tiene como propósito poder evaluar si es financieramente viable la creación de una escuela de formación profesional para la población ninis de San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras por medio de la familia salesiana. Se desconoce si el proyecto es viable por lo que se necesita saber si este lo será, por lo tanto el objetivo principal es realizar un estudio de prefactibilidad para conocer la tasa interna de retorno. La hipótesis de investigación (Hi) es que la creación de una escuela de formación profesional genera una tasa interna de rendimiento mayor al costo de capital. El enfoque de la investigación es mixto del tipo descriptivo con un diseño no experimental del tipo transeccional. El tipo de muestra que se utilizará es la muestra no probabilística. Para la recolección de información para el estudio de mercado se aplicaron 381 encuestas. Se realizó el estudio técnico donde se definió la localización en el sector sureste de San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras con un tamaño de 4,000 m2. Para determinar la rentabilidad se realizó un estudio financiero, dónde la TIR fue de 9.61% lo que acepta la hipótesis de investigación al ser esta mayor que el costo de capital promedio ponderado. Se concluyó que la creación de la escuela de formación profesional es factible por lo que se recomienda realizar el proyecto, por tanto se planificó la puesta en marcha del proyecto utilizando la metodología del Project Management Institute (PMI) donde se presentan como entregables: aspectos legales, construcción de escuela de formación profesional, mobiliario, equipo e insumos, sistemas informáticos, contrataciones, inauguración, gestión del proyecto.
