El siguiente trabajo de investigación se realizó como parte de los requerimientos previos para optar al título de postgrado en Finanzas de la Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC). El trabajo constituye un aporte relevante para la sociedad hondureña en general. El objetivo principal del proyecto fue determinar el impacto económico del: aprovechamiento irracional de los recursos naturales del país mediante la cuantificación de los valores de los elementos ambientales que están siendo eliminados sistemáticamente para medir la inversión requerida para protección a corto y mediano plazo. El método utilizado fueron las entrevistas, se realizaron con expertos en Cambio Climático, Ambientalistas, Forestales, entre otros. El enfoque utilizado fue cuantitativo, y el tipo de alcance secuencial, deductivo, probatorio. Como conclusión hay que reeducar a la población, hacer concientización a gran escala y las consecuencias de no hacerlo. Como recomendación es que no existen vacíos técnicos en el tema ambiental lo que existe son vacíos políticos y presupuestarios para la correcta implementación.The following research work was done as part of the previous requirements to qualify for the postgraduate degree in Finance of the Central American Technological University (UNITEC). The work constitutes a relevant contribution for Honduran society in general. The main objective of the project was to determine the economic impact of: irrational use of the country's natural resources by quantifying the values of the environmental elements that are being systematically eliminated to measure the investment required for protection in the short and medium term. The method used was the interviews, they were carried out with experts in Climate Change, Environmentalists, Forestry, among others. The approach used was quantitative, and the type of sequential, deductive, probative scope. In conclusion, we must re-educate the population, raise awareness on a large scale and the consequencesof not doing so. As a recommendation is that there are no technical gaps in the environmental issue that exist are political and budgetary gaps for the correct implementation.
