Buffaloes face bigger challenges than other species because there is not so much engagement and demand for the production chain in the country compared to cattle. Even so, they are animals with high docility, excellent adaptation to the Brazilian climate, rusticity and adaptability to the property’s technological level. Another important factor is the nutritional part of milk, it has riches in vitamins and minerals. In Brazil, there are 4 breeds suitable for breeding in different locations, which the Murrah breed is predominant in the northern region. The different breeds in different creations and facilities and the influence of management are directly related to the response that the animal will express. So, with adequate attention to the environment, sanitary management, praising the comfort and environmental enrichment that individuals need for the production of milk with quantity and quality, which buffalo’s milk can be superior to that of bovines. In this way, the present work aimed to acquire knowledge through works and research related to animal welfare and the breeding of buffaloes with a focus on the dairy potential, using data palpable and reliable such as IBGE, ABCB, ADAPEC, some periodicals, university websites among others. Resulting in a work that allowed to praise the benefit of animal welfare in the production of milk from buffaloes.Os bubalinos enfrentam desafios superiores á outras espécies por não haver tanto engajamento e procura pela cadeia produtiva no país em comparação aos bovinos. Mesmo assim, são animais com alta docilidade, excelência adaptação ao clima brasileiro, rusticidade e aptidão adaptável ao nível tecnológico de propriedades. Outro fator importante é a parte nutricional do leite, possui riquezas em vitaminas e minerais. No Brasil conta-se com 4 raças aptas para a criação em diversas localidades, do qual a raça Murrah é predominante na região norte. As variadas raças em diversas criações e instalações e a influência do manejo é diretamente relacionada com a resposta que o animal se expressará. Assim, com a adequada atenção na ambiência, no manejo sanitário, enaltecendo o conforto e o enriquecimento ambiental que os indivíduos necessitam para a produção de leite com quantidade e qualidade, no qual o leite de búfala pode chegar a ser superior o de bovinos. Neste sentido o presente trabalho objetivou-se adquirir conhecimento através de trabalhos e pesquisas correlacionadas ao bem estar animal e a criação de búfalos com foco no potencial leiteiro, utilizando dados da literatura pertinentes como o IBGE,ABCB,ADAPEC, alguns periódicos, sites de universidades entre outros.
