dc.descriptionIn this discussion, the issue of identity displacements and its relationship with ancestry is problematized, based on the staging of clashes between tradition and modernity in the narratives that make up the literary work “Habitante do inóspito” (2017), by Mozambican writer Alex Dau. In the light of an anticolonial reading, based on problematizations around the “colonized mismatch dilemma” (MEMMI, 2007) and “inferiority complex” (FANON, 2008), we seek to understand how the author situates himself, in his short-story writing, in the face of identity elements of a ritualistic nature as means of questioning Mozambican contemporaneity.en-US
