| dc.description | In the context of hydrographic condition of the State, the basin of Sergipe River is to
be presented with greater diversity in relation to the use, often conflicting between supplying and irrigation, and with regard to aspects of physiographic order, which have ultimately affected a
quantitative and qualitative spatial variation of water availability. The present study aimed at, among
other aspects, locating the State Program of Support for Participatory Management of Water Resources
(surface and underground) at the current law; it was also found various forms of water usage in the
basin. In order to achieve these objectives, it was used different procedures relating to the
bibliographic, mapping and field surveys. Among other results, it was observed in the basin that there
are forms of water usage associated with the consumptives and non-consumptives types presenting variation from the human supplying up to the animal drinking, irrigation, industrial, agriculture,
navigation, fishing and recreation. The system of water distribution in the basin has an installed capacity of 180.272m3/day, equivalent to 2.09 m3/s, with an estimated demand for year 2020 around 439,623 m3/day (5.09 m3/s) from which about 66.5% will be needed to human supplying. | |
