| dc.description | Resumo: Este texto é o resultado final do estudo sobre o Colégio Santa Teresa, de Ituiutaba, Triângulo Mineiro, Minas Gerais, Brasil. A pesquisa objetivou compreender seu processo de criação e desenvolvimento, apreender os elementos mais significativos do processo de constituição e desenvolvimento da Congregação das Irmãs Carlistas Scalabrinianas e de seu projeto educativo. A abrangência do período estudado é de 1939 a 1942. Os resultados alcançados demonstram que a criação do Colégio fazia parte de um projeto de escolarização mais amplo da igreja Católica no Brasil. Além disso, apreendeu-se que o motivo da fundação do Colégio não foi a questão imigratória que norteou boa parte dos demais empreendimentos da congregação, mas sim a necessidade de atendimento das famílias católicas e tradicionais da cidade e região.

Abstract: This text is the final result of a study of Saint Teresa High School (Colégio Santa Teresa) in Ituiutaba, Triangle Region, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The goal of the research was to understand the process of its founding and development, and discover the most significant elements of the establishment of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Saint Charles (Scalabrinians) and their educational project. The period under study is from 1939 to 1942. The results obtained show that the formation of the High School was part of a broader educational project of the Catholic Church in Brazil, furthermore, the motivation for the founding of the High School was discovered to be not a question related to immigration that directed a large part of the other undertakings of the congregation, but rather the necessity of serving the Catholic and traditional families of the city and the region.
