| dc.description | The subeptelial connective tissue graft has been used with high success rate to obtain
esthetics, function and health of the oral mucosa. In implantology, esthetics is considered a
major factor which, in addition to involving the anatomy of the tooth replaced, involves the
healthy and harmonious appearance of the peri-implant tissue. This case report aims to
demonstrate the success of the technique of subeptelial connective tissue graft previously
implant implantation and in the treatment of alveolar bone defects. The patient M.L.S., 32
years old, female, non-smoker, healthy, starts a treatment at the Dental Hospital of UFU
(Federal University of Uberlândia) to undergo oral rehabilitation. Her main complaint was
aesthetic dissatisfaction due to a depression in the maxillary arch and absence of tooth in
anterior region. Clinically, the presence of a defect in the alveolar bone region of the teeth 21
and 22 was observed. Subeptelial connective tissue graft surgery was performed in the region
of the teeth 21 and 22 and installation of implants was performed in this region, aiming to
regularize the defect and future installation of the implant-supported prosthesis. The success
of the technique, with gain in thickness and satisfactory volume of the grafted region and
success in the installation of the implants was observed. | |

| dc.description | O enxerto de tecido conjuntivo subeptelial tem sido empregado com alto índice de sucesso para obtenção de estética, função e saúde da mucosa. Na implantodontia a estética é considerada um fator de grande importância que, além de envolver a anatomia do dente a ser substituído, envolve a aparência saudável e harmônica do tecido peri-implantar. Este relato de caso tem como objetivo demonstrar o sucesso da técnica de enxerto de tecido conjuntivo subeptelial previamente à instalação de implantes e no tratamento de defeitos do rebordo alveolar. Paciente M.L.S., 32 anos, melanoderma, gênero feminino, não fumante, sistematicamente saudável procurou o atendimento no Hospital Odontológico da UFU (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia) para submeter-se a reabilitação oral. Sua queixa principal era a insatisfação estética devido a uma depressão no rebordo na região ântero-superior e ausência dos dentes na região ântero-superior. Clinicamente, constatou a presença de um defeito no rebordo alveolar na região dos dentes 21 e 22. Realizou-se a cirurgia de enxerto de tecido conjuntivo subeptelial na região dos dentes 21 e 22 e instalação de implantes nessa região, para a regularização do rebordo e futuramente a instalação de prótese sob implantes. Obteve o êxito da técnica, com ganho em espessura e volume satisfatório da região de enxertia e sucesso na instalação dos implantes. | |
