dc.descriptionThough a complex spatial geometry this Dissertation is developed, which aims to analyses and interpret the urban configuration of a section from the city of Uberlândia/MG. It wants to know its Urban Plan, its genesis, its project application and its transformations, with a unique layout, different from the existing urban design in the city. Interpret the evolution and development, analyzing the built reality as urban consolidation: Presidente Roosevelt Neighborhood. The configurational analysis of the neighborhood’s mesh in a radial, concentric, closed in itself, which discoveries can bring. Designed by João Jorge Coury (1908-1970), pioneering architect in the Triângulo Mineiro, a region of Minas Gerais, one of the states from Brazil. Diffuser of the Modern Movement, he presents the elements of this growing movement in Brazil in the 1950s. The neighborhood’s history begins at Fazenda do Salto, located in the old rural area of the city and the current North Region of the city. With an unorthodox shape for the city, breaking paradigms when referring to orthogonal correlation between Modern Urbanism and the Garden City theorized by Ebenezer Howard and its derivations and how J.J. Coury establishes in his project the elements of these urban references. Using morphological readings in order to decode the curves and straight lines that delineate it, as well as the transformations that have occurred, through the interurban analysis of the neighborhood in four dimensions: functional, topoceptive, socio-spatial and bioclimatic. Through the interpretation of dimensions, the relationship between genesis, implantation and transformations was identified.

dc.descriptionAtravés de uma complexa geometria espacial se desenvolve esta Dissertação, a qual objetiva analisar e interpretar a configuração urbana de um recorte da cidade de Uberlândia/MG. Conhecer seu Projeto Urbanístico, sua gênese, sua aplicação projetual e suas transformações, com um traçado único, diferenciado do desenho urbano existente na cidade. Interpretar a evolução e desenvolvimento, analisando a realidade edificada enquanto consolidação urbana do Bairro Presidente Roosevelt. A análise configuracional da malha do bairro de forma radial, concêntrica, fechada em si, que descobertas poderá trazer. Projetado por João Jorge Coury (1908-1970), arquiteto pioneiro na região do Triângulo Mineiro/MG, difusor do Movimento Moderno, apresenta em seus projetos os elementos desse movimento em crescimento no Brasil da década de 1950. A história do bairro começa no final da década de 1940, na Fazenda do Salto, situada na antiga zona rural do município e atual Zona Norte da cidade. Com uma forma pouco ortodoxa para a cidade, quebrando paradigmas, quando se refere ao traçado ortogonal. Faz-se uma correlação entre o Urbanismo Moderno e a Cidade-Jardim teorizada por Ebenezer Howard e como J. J. Coury estabelece em seu projeto os elementos dessas referências urbanísticas. Utilizando leituras morfológicas no intuito de decodificar as curvas e retas que o delineiam, assim como as transformações ocorridas, através da análise intraurbana do bairro em quatro dimensões: funcional, topoceptiva, sócio espacial e bioclimática. Através da interpretação das dimensões identificou-se a relação entre gênese, implantação e as transformações.
