| dc.description | This article aims to elaborate an analysis of the legality of the Intervention in the Afghanistan, one of the largest armed conflicts of the 21st century, through the study of United Nations Charter, paying greater attention to its Article 51, which deals with the right of legítimate defense of states. Given this, the theory of legítimate defense will also be studied, which is the United States justification for intervention, as well as the use of strength in international law. | |

Diante disso, também será estudada a teoria da legítima defesa preventiva, que é a justificativa dos Estados Unidos para a intervenção, bem como o uso da força no Direito Internacional. | |
