| dc.description | The Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) was created with the aim of facilitating the
simplified and less bureaucratic formalization of self-employed workers with the aim of
reducing their informality. Based on this, the present work has as general objective to identify
the ten (10) predominant MEI sectors in the city of Uberlândia - MG in the year of 2016
comparing them with the predominant activities at the country level. The methodology used
was bibliographic research and data collection through the Portal do Empreendedor
(www.portaldoempreendedor.gov.br). It is concluded that the study contributed to
demonstrate that the MEI system demonstrates an important role for the country and that the
city of Uberlândia has activities that stand out in the formalization of the MEI that are
different from the general data of the country and between the main activities of the city in In
relation to the country, there were some discrepancies that occurred due to the economic and
social particularities of the city, such as average per capita income above the national average
and educational level above the national average. | |

| dc.description | O Microempreendedor Individual – MEI foi criado com para facilitar a formalização de forma simplificada e menos burocrática de trabalhadores autônomos com o objetivo de reduzir a informalidade desses. Com base nisso, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo geral identificar os 10 (dez) setores predominantes do MEI na cidade de Uberlândia – MG no ano de 2016 comparando-as com as atividades predominantes em nível país. A metodologia utilizada foi pesquisa bibliográfica e coleta de dados através do Portal do Empreendedor (www.portaldoempreendedor.gov.br). Conclui-se que o estudo contribuiu para demonstrar que o sistema MEI demonstra um papel importante para o país e que a cidade de Uberlândia possui atividades que destacam na formalização do MEI que são diferentes dos dados gerais do país e entre as atividades principais da cidade em relação ao país, ocorreram algumas discrepâncias que ocorre em função das particularidades econômicas e sociais da cidade, tais como média de renda per capita acima da média nacional e grau de escolaridade acima da média nacional. | |
