Defesa: Curitiba, 09/06/2008Inclui bibliografia e anexosResumo: No presente trabalho, a adolescência é vista como uma continuidade do desenvolvimento humano; entende-se que o repertório comportamental do adolescente é influenciado pelas suas histórias onto e filogenéticas, pelo ambiente e cultura em que vive. É a história de vida que proporciona instrumentos para que o indivíduo enfrente as transformações sociais e biológicas que marcam a adolescência. O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar as relações existentes entre o ambiente que o adolescente vive (estrutura e relacionamento familiar, situação socioeconômica, oportunidades de acesso a educação e religiosidade) e suas percepções acerca de seu relacionamento com a família e amigos, suas concepções sobre religião, trabalho, suas expectativas de futuro, a organização do seu tempo, suas atitudes e autoestima. Participaram da pesquisa 255 adolescentes, com idade entre 14 e 17 anos, de três grupos distintos, localizados na grande Curitiba. O instrumento de coleta de dados constituiu-se de um questionário compostos por 400 itens, sendo alguns abertos e outros fechados; a significância estatística entre variáveis foi verificada por meio do teste Qui-quadrado. Os principais resultados encontrados foram: forte influência do relacionamento entre pais e filhos sobre a forma que o adolescente vivencia este momento de sua vida; para o adolescente o significado de participar de uma religião está mais relacionado à espiritualidade do que à religiosidade; o adolescente, principalmente aquele que já trabalha, aprova e legitima o trabalho nessa época de sua vida; os participantes possuem sonhos e expectativas, principalmente no que tange a formação acadêmica e a realização pessoal e profissional; os adolescentes dos três grupos tendem a procurar as mesmas pessoas quando possuem um problema, sendo que a mãe é procurada com maior freqüência; mesmo vivendo em diferentes contextos, os adolescentes costumam realizar as mesmas atividades, contudo, com intensidade diferente e com adaptações próprias à sua realidade. Os resultados mostram que a maioria dos adolescentes aprecia esse momento de sua vida e possui grandes expectativas quanto ao seu futuro. Estas expectativas e sonhos são fundamentais na adolescência, pois é neste momento de vida que muitos passos práticos são necessários para que as expectativas tornem-se realidade, esta é a razão por que é muito importante que a família e educadores se envolvam nesse processo. O presente trabalho pretende contribuir com as propostas de prevenção e intervenção de profissionais que trabalham com adolescentes.Abstract: This study is based on the conception that adolescence as a continuum of human development, and that the repertoire of adolescent behavior is influenced by their stories onto and phylogenetic, the environment and culture in which they lives. It is the story of life that provides instruments for the person facing the biological and social transformations that mark the adolescence. The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between the environment that the adolescent lives (family structure and relationship, socioeconomic status, opportunities of access to education and religiosity) and their perceptions about their relationships with family and friends, their ideas about religion and work, their expectations for the future, the organization of their time, their attitudes and self-esteem. A group of 255 teenagers (aged 14-17 years) participated in the study, from three distinct groups, located in the area of great Curitiba. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire with 400 items, some opened and others closed; Statistical significance between variables was verified by Chi-square. The main findings were: the great influence of the relationship between parents and offspring about how the adolescent experience this moment of their life; the meaning for the teenager to participate in a religion is more related to spirituality than religiosity; the teenager; especially the ones already works, approves and legitimizes the adolescent work; the participants have dreams and expectations especially about academic, personal and professional achievement; young people of the three groups tend to look for the same people when they have a problem, and the mother is sought more frequently; even living in different contexts, young people usually perform the same activities, though with different intensity and with adjustments to their own reality. The results suggest that most teenagers appreciate this moment of their life and have high expectations about future. These expectations and dreams are fundamental in adolescence, because it is in this moment of life that many practical steps are necessary for the expectations to become reality, so it is very important that the family and educators are engaged in that process. This research aims to contribute to projects of prevention and intervention of professionals who work with adolescents.
