dc.descriptionThe strands are configured as one of the main elements of the landscape, when viewed in a short time, show up with static appearance, however they are continually being worked by erosive or depositional processes. The main objective is to contribute to the understanding of the profile conformation and shape of the slopes up the water-physical parameters of soil cover on slopes situated on lithologies of Santa Maria Formation, in Santa Maria, RS. According to the objectives of the work, it was used as a theoretical and methodological basis the proposal structural analysis of soil cover, which allowed the understanding of the dynamics of soil cover and the relationship with other landscape elements. After analysis of the results, there was obtained the following physical-hydric behavior of horizons diagnoses of the soil profile, where it was identified the process of translocation of clay  from superficial diagnostic horizons A, AE, E and EB for subsurface BE and B, these being more durable, impermeable horizons, contributing to turn convex the top of the slope. Already at the slope base, the concave shape is due to regressive erosion of less resistant horizons and the organization thereof, commanded by surface and subsurface water circulation.en-US
dc.descriptionAs vertentes se configuram como um dos principais elementos da paisagem, quando observadas num curto espaço de tempo, mostram-se com aparência estática, entretanto estão sendo continuamente trabalhadas por processos erosivos ou deposicionais. O objetivo geral do trabalho é contribuir para o entendimento da conformação do perfil e forma das vertentes frente aos parâmetros físico-hídricos da cobertura pedológica sobre vertentes situadas sobre litologias da Formação Santa Maria, no município de Santa Maria, RS. De acordo com os objetivos do trabalho, utilizou-se como base teórico-metodológica a proposta da análise estrutural da cobertura pedológica, que permitiu a compreensão da dinâmica da cobertura pedológica e a relação com os demais elementos da paisagem. Após a analise dos resultados obteve-se o seguinte comportamento físico-hídrico dos horizontes diagnósticos do perfil do solo, aonde foi identificado o processo de translocação das argilas dos horizontes diagnósticos superficiais A, AE, E e EB para os subsuperficiais BE e B, sendo esses horizontes mais resistentes e impermeáveis contribuindo para a convexação do topo da vertente, já na base da vertente a concavização é devido a erosão remontante dos horizontes menos resistentes e pela organização dos mesmos, comandados  pela circulação hídrica superficial e subsuperficial.pt-BR
