spa:Manizales en la primera mitad del siglo XX tuvo un gran crecimiento demográfico y figuro entre las ciudades más destacadas en Colombia por su crecimiento económico, por lo tanto, algo tan importante como lo es la infraestructura de las vías y el transporte debía pensarse acorde en lo que se estaba convirtiendo Manizales en aquel momento, en una ciudad moderna. En este periodo de tiempo el transporte público evoluciono de ser un sistemainformal con algunas regulaciones por parte de las autoridades locales hasta que se logróconsolidar la primera empresa privada del transporte público en la ciudad, la cual fue “Buses Unidos”, sin embargo también es un periodo con grandes deficiencias dentro de los gobiernos locales cómo lo fue el desarrollo de infraestructura vial donde la topografía accidentada en la que se encuentra asentada Manizales siempre fue el principal obstáculo y el proyecto de un tranvía que jamás llego a la ciudad el cual no trascendió más allá del papel.eng:Manizales in the first half of the 20th century had a great demographic growth and was among the most outstanding cities in Colombia for its economic growth, therefore something as important as the infrastructure of roads and transport should be thought of according to what Manizales was becoming at that time, a modern city.
