Objetivo. Describir las temáticas, población, métodos, tipos de estudio, técnicas de investigación y referentes teóricos encontrados en estudios colombianos a partir de la realización de un estado del arte entre 2000 y 2011. Metodología. La metodología definida para el estado del arte fue cualitativa desde la perspectiva teórica hermenéutica a partir de investigaciones aplicadas sobre familia que expresaran responsabilidad social frente a la comprensión de los fenómenos sociales. Resultados y conclusiones. Se observa que los investigadores tienen la tendencia a usar combinaciones teóricas y no una única teoría para comprender la familia, lo que da cuenta de la renuncia a explicaciones monocausales; además empiezan a dar cuenta del uso de perspectivas epistemológicas liminales en investigación en las que se busca no solo producir conocimiento, sino también intervenir con familias.Abstract: Objective. To describe the themes, population, methods, types of study, research techniques and theoretical references found in Colombian studies since the development of a state of the art between the years 2000 - 2011. Methodology. The methodology described for the state of the art was qualitative from the theoretical hermeneutic perspective based on applied research on family that expressed social responsibility against the understanding of social phenomena. Results and conclusions. It is observed that researchers have the tendency to use theoretical combinations and not a single theory to understand the family, which accounts for the renunciation of mono causal explanations. Also they begin to account for the use of liminal epistemological perspectives in research, in which they seek not only to produce knowledge, but also to intervene with families.
