Abstract

This improvement plan is based on the implementation of the EOQ model in the processes of the Cencosud company in order to optimize them, also so that the company can achieve greater utility in its commercial operations. The EOQ model was chosen for different reasons, the first reason is the fact that it is a purely mathematical model that delivers quantitative and purely objective results; The second reason is based on the fact that the main shortcoming that was identified within the company is the lack of planning, since the final result of this model is the optimal amount of order that must be had for a specific product; And finally, the third reason why the EOQ model was chosen to develop this improvement plan is because of its ease with which it could be implemented. At the end of the work and later to theoretically expose the EOQ model with its functionalities, and the theoretical path for the implementation of the EOQ model within the Cencosud company, through a practical example with real historical sales of a product that is managed within of the company, the effect that the implementation of the model could have on the efficiency of the company will be tested.
