Resumen
This project seeks to address a serious and growing problem in the local community. The Sierra Morena neighborhood is located in a mountainous area and exposed to risks of mass removal, especially during periods of heavy rains that have become increasingly frequent and intense due to climate change and weathering phenomena.
The lack of accurate information on the risks of mass removals and their evolution over time has led to the local community not having sufficient capacity to prevent or reduce the damage caused by these events. In addition, the lack of proper planning for land use and housing construction in high-risk areas aggravates the situation. Therefore, this project seeks to collect accurate and current data on the risk caused by the removal of natural material in the Sierra Morena area and use GIS tools to analyze and evaluate both climate humidity and climate change scenarios that may affect the stability of the soil and the vulnerability of the community.
In summary, the project seeks to solve a mass removal risk problem that has negatively affected the people who live in the Sierra Morena neighborhood of Ciudad Bolívar; Through the use of GIS tools that will allow a better understanding of the problem and more effective planning to prevent and reduce risks in the long term.
