Resumen
The objective of this research work is to analyze the cultural transformations of young migrants from Cáqueza, who are in the city of Bogotá pursuing higher education studies, with a focus on communication, in order to generate elements that help mitigate the cultural shocks of those who are close to carrying out this migratory process.
The project was developed from two fields of action. First, a diagnostic exercise was carried out with young migrants from Cáqueza who currently live in the city of Bogotá, in which the most transcendental cultural shocks faced by the students in their adaptation processes were identified. Secondly, a communicative strategy was developed and implemented, applied to students in the last grade of two rural educational institutions in the municipality of Cáqueza, with the purpose of providing high school students with a notion of the migratory process and sensitizing them about the changes they are about to experience.
The research made use of a mixed methodology with greater emphasis on the qualitative, since it sought to study the transformations within the identity of individuals and, on the other hand, from the quantitative, the analysis of inputs typical of this approach, such as data and figures, was carried out. In addition, the techniques used included surveys, a discussion group, a workshop, discourse analysis, photographic and audio recordings, and focus group selection, which included 10 participants who met the necessary characteristics.
The findings indicate that in the continuous exercise of relationship between migrants from Cáqueza and inhabitants of the city of Bogotá in general, they are detaching themselves from the already rooted culture and adopting different transformations in their dynamics at social, economic, cultural and academic levels, as a method of adaptation, and communication is fundamental and unavoidable in these processes.
