        Abstract
Pedestrian accessibility evaluation studies have contributed to the development of methods and instruments for the analysis of factors that influence the mobility of people in different urban environments, however, each study adopts different measures or strategies, generating difficulties in the way of measuring and assess accessibility. In this context, the degree work is established as a documentary review with the purpose of identifying references of methodologies to evaluate pedestrian accessibility through Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The documentary research was carried out using scientific databases, search engines and some institutional repositories, through structured search equations with corresponding thesauri of pedestrian accessibility, public space and GIS. The information collected was classified according to the different pedestrian accessibility scenarios, including data sources, study variables and GIS integration. This research allowed to identify seven common variables that authors usually consider when evaluating pedestrian accessibility, these variables allow visualizing physical and spatial aspects effectively within a GIS. In addition, the variables of the accessibility evaluation sheets adapted in the project "Study of Pedestrian Accessibility through Geographic Information Systems" were compared. Current Status in the Zone of Influence of the Hospital Infrastructure of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area" with the references of selected methodologies validating their effectiveness in a practical way.
