Resumen
Introduction: The health service delivery model for medium-complexity hospitals raised by the network document in Boyacá faces difficulties in meeting the specific health needs of the region. The objective of this study was to determine if this model fits the epidemiological profile and the basic needs of the population in medium-complexity hospitals in Boyacá. The methodology used was a quantitative observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study. Three social enterprises of the state of medium complexity in Boyacá were included, and the information was collected from secondary sources, grouping into comparative sociodemographic, epidemiological, service provision, problem-solving, and financial variables.
The results showed that in the year 2020, adulthood was the most frequent course of life in all social enterprises in the state studied (Soatá: 38.4%, Miraflores: 39.7% and Valle de Tenza: 38%), and this trend was maintained. in 2021. The main cause of mortality between 2015 and 2021 in all companies was diseases of the circulatory system (Soatá: 36.6%, Miraflores: 37.15%, Valle de Tenza: 42.1%). Between 2020 and 2021, the group of noncommunicable diseases was the main cause of morbidity for all life courses. Curiously, the psychiatry service generated the highest percentage of referrals in 2020 in Valle de Tenza (25%), and in 2021 it was the most requested in all the municipalities studied (Soatá: 26%, Miraflores: 29%, Valle de Tenza: 23%), despite the fact that none of these hospitals had this service enabled. Regarding financial aspects, it was found that the annual budget and the highest billing in the years 2020 and 2021 were registered in Soatá, followed by Valle de Tenza. On the other hand, Miraflores had the lowest annual budget, although its billing increased compared to 2020.
In conclusion, it was determined that the health service delivery model does not fully satisfy the population needs in epidemiological terms and service delivery in medium-complexity hospitals in Boyacá.
