Resumen
This text describes the support of an architectural project that aims to analyze the pedagogical restructuring of the astronomical culture, which is presented as a requirement to obtain the title of Architect with the Tunja sectional Santo Tomás University. Several questions are raised to be answered in the theoretical framework. How is a planetarium? What are its main characteristics and attributes, and how to design equipment that integrates well with the landscape and encourages the development of astronomical pedagogy? The project will be carried out in the main area of the Tatacoa desert in Colombia, a 35-hectare tropical dry forest that has undergone various transformations due to climate, fluvial dynamics, and human intervention. Given the climatic conditions of the environment, with extreme temperatures during the day and night, as well as its paleontological richness, astrotourism has gained importance in the area.
The objective of the project is to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Tatacoa tropical dry forest to create a teaching center and astronomical observation museum that satisfies the educational, touristic and pedagogical needs of the region and that, at the same time, contributes to the development social, economic, environmental and cultural aspects of the area. To achieve this, a regional ecotourism restoration and the restructuring of urban components are proposed in order to promote the investigative, social, economic, environmental and cultural development of the area. In addition, the current Tatacoa desert observatory is reconsidered, transforming its original function into that of a planetarium under modern and ecological architectural parameters that allow the comfort of tourists, academics, scientists and the population interested in astronomy.
