Percepción del Acoso Sexual de Adultos Jóvenes de Pregrado Pertenecientes a la División de Ciencias de la Salud en la Universidad Santo Tomás Sede Campus San Alberto Magno

Abstract

Sexual harassment is understood as generating behaviors or conducts related to physical and verbal violence or aggression, with the purpose of producing adverse effects to the dignity of human beings, generating a hostile, offensive, intimidating and degrading environment; the main characteristics of harassment are derived by originating physical and/or psychological damage to the victim in a prolonged time, where situations of inequality, suffering, mistreatment, harassment and power struggle between the harassed and the harasser are developed. (Universidad de la Rioja, 2017), having said this, we sought to understand the perceptions of undergraduate young adults about sexual harassment at the San Alberto Magno Campus of the Universidad Santo Tomás, contributing to the line of research psychology, everyday contexts and social transformations. The analysis of the phenomenon studied was carried out from the humanistic approach, the methodology developed is quantitative with the cross-sectional descriptive approach, in a sample made up of (61) participants, This study determines that there is no significant association between sociodemographic variables and the perception that young adults have about the phenomenon of sexual harassment, identifying this phenomenon as the set of inappropriate behaviors, and that there is no significant association between the sociodemographic variables and the perception that young adults have about the phenomenon of sexual harassment, identifying this phenomenon as the set of inappropriate behaviors.
