This document is a degree project, registered in the type of descriptive study, with mixed method and from the hermeneutic approach. Its objective is to characterize the evaluative practices, framed in a competency-based pedagogical model, from the perspective of undergraduate teachers, from private university institutions in Bogotá, object of study. The dichotomy between PEI, curricular design, planning and formative practice was evidenced; contributions arose to the conceptualization of the evaluation based on competencies, the methodological strategies, the pedagogical resources, the competencies that are evaluated and the evaluation criteria; and strategies were formulated in relation to the improvement of the competency-based evaluation processes, the educational system in general, the undergraduate university institutions, the teacher, the student, the theory of pedagogy, the psychology of learning and the theory of curriculum and assessment.
