Resumen
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the construction of collective subjectivity of e-kids in Instagram taking into account the theorical contributions of post-structuralism as seen from the perspective of Roland Barthes, Paul Virilio and Byung Chul Han and symbolic interactionism from Erving Goffman and Herbert Blumer. The aim is to answer to the categories of narratives, subjectivity and digital mediations. Furthermore, the concept of collective subjectivity is taken from Psychologist Fernando Fabris. In order to develop this thesis, a mixed methodology was used from which a total of five qualitative and quantitative tools were gathered to obtain results, showing evidence that there is a construction of collective subjectivity in the studied population.
Additionally, Instagram is seen as a social media platform that allows the user to express their identity and personal construction through posts. However, due to the proliferation and evolution of social media platforms, the dynamics of interaction have been transformed allowing for the creation of social groups that create digital cultures. Due to the recent notoriety of this phenomenon, there are no current research papers that focus on analyzing how this groups build their collective subjectivity in Instagram. For this reason, the current investigation focuses on understanding said construction through the analysis of the emerging community known as e-kids. The results show that social media platforms have been converted into a vital tool in daily life, changing the way in which the digital world is perceived. This resulted in the following focus points: Hyperreality, digital cultures and collective consciousness, which conclude in the identification of new social dynamics that have not been previously investigated.
