dc.description.abstractThis Course Completion Paper aimed to reflect on the socio-educational dimension of social service and how it contributes to human emancipation and access to rights of the population. It is important to discuss this theme in order to expand the tools of professional intervention, which aim at the realization of rights and the construction of emancipator processes of the working class. The specific research objectives are: to identify the social-educational dimension of social service in Brazil and to analyze the professional performance in the face of changes that have occurred in society; to reflect on the professional identity of the social worker and to understand how social educational work contributes to human emancipation; and to present the internship proposal in line with the social-educational work. Forthis propose, the study was based on bibliographic research, supported by authors such as Abreu (2011), Iamamoto and Carvalho (2011), Iamamoto(2012), Martinelli (2011), Mioto (2010), Torres (2009), among others. It was found that the socio-educational work is linked to an action of strengthening emancipator processes and is directed to users as subjects of rights. From this, we can conclude not only that the socio-educational dimension, in line with the Ethical-Political Project of social service, contributes to the development of human emancipation, autonomy and citizenship of the working class, as well as that the lack of information is a barrier to these access services.
