Suicide is a serious public health problem in Brazil due to the high rates of attempts and mortality, in addition to the complexity that suicide entails. Therefore, a gap was perceived regarding the specificities of child suicide, due to being the age group with the lowest incidence compared to the others. Thus, the importance of dealing with this issue is recognized in order to better understand its particularities, in view of non-conformities in the data and scarce publications on the subject. This qualitative research aims to shed light on child suicide from the perspective of Psychology and school professionals, who came across at least one case of a child who attempted suicide. For this, three interviews were conducted with psychologists and three with school professionals. Data analysis is performed using Bardin's Content Analysis, and the results were divided into three categories: the context of the suicidal child, the management of professionals after a suicide attempt, and the challenges experienced by professionals in the scenario of child suicide. Aspects that corroborate the literature were found, such as family factors, psychiatric disorders and media influence being associated with the risk of suicide. It is concluded that the theme is extremely relevant and needs more space in suicide studies to obtain concrete information about the reality of child suicide in Brazil, in order to develop effective public policies in suicide prevention aimed at children.
